Sams Branch Greenway

Clayton, NC

The Town of Clayton secured funding from the North Carolina Department of Transportation with which to implement a 1.2-mile lateral greenway trail connecting the Town with the Mountain-to-Sea Trail Greenway, a multi-use path that follows along the Neuse River in Johnson County. The preliminary design for the Sam’s Branch Greenway Trail was completed by NCDOT and Rivers was engaged for completion of detailed design, project detailing and resolution of wetland and riparian buffer permitting issues. Three pedestrian boardwalk bridges span jurisdictional wetlands, creeks and ditches, resolving Neuse River buffer and COE permitting concerns.
