Creekside Park Playground

Craven County, NC

Creekside Park is a 100+ acre regional park located off of US Highway 70 in New Bern, NC. The facility serves citizens of Craven County and visitors from surrounding areas. Amenities include numerous athletic fields, sand volleyball courts, recreational fishing, playgrounds and picnic shelters. Craven County partnered with Trillium Health Foundation, receiving a $750,000 Play Together Construction Grant for implementation of a new all-inclusive play environment at the park. Rivers’ services were engaged for design development and environmental permit acquisition.

The new facility features a combination of unique and accessible play structures for various youth age groups, outdoor rooms including a sensory garden and quiet/creative play area, and various shade structures. Coupled with hardscape improvements, site amenities and landscaping, an inviting destination environment for play and relaxation has been created to serve both special needs and general populations.
