After an existing park was demolished to make way for a new highway, the Town committed to develop a replacement facility that would better provide for the community’s recreation needs.
PARK MASTER PLAN
Rivers was engaged to assist the Recreation Department develop a revised master plan for a new 35-acre park incorporating a revised layout for the second and future phase facilities, prepare preliminary opinion of probable costs and budget planning for implementation of the first and second phases. The project was planned and designed to take advantage of existing woodland areas, natural topography and existing streams to create various distinct areas of the complex.
PARK DEVELOPMENT
Rivers worked with the Recreation Department to implement two phases of the new park. After providing design revisions and permitting acquisition assistance, phase 1 was implemented followed immediately by the design, permitting and implementation of phase 2. These initial phases included implementation of a 3-field soccerplex, a 4-field softball/baseball complex, concession plaza, restroom facilities, picnic pavilion, playgrounds, walking trails and site improvements. Future planned facilities include a 6-court tennis complex and community center.
